Sustainability
“Sustainability is a holistic approach that considers the ecological, social and economic dimensions, recognizing that everyone must be considered together to find lasting prosperity.” United Nations, Bruntdland Commission Report, 1983
Gradually and decisively, the Emmaus Way Foundation is fully aware of the need to strengthen its holistic approach to ministry, and this includes cultivating intentional efforts to increase financial sustainability. In this spirit, the Emmaus Way Foundation has already planted the promising seeds of the following sustainable funds.
Formal Education Sustainable Fund
This fund was established in Colombia and its objective is to continue growing the existing capital so that we can ensure additional permanent income resources to finance this vital area of our ministry. Contributions to this fund are always welcome to increase the capital of this Sustainable Fund.
LIZWAN Sustainable Fund
This Sustainable Fund is managed by The Lutheran Foundation of the Southwest in Texas and was established in 2021 by the Lizarazo-Wangsness family.
While it is true that the Lizarazo Wangsness Family have plans to include this Fund as part of the distribution of their final legacy, the greatest promise of the LIZWAN Sustainable Fund is to accept financial contributions, not only from the Lizarazo- Wangsness family but also from anyone who may have this interest. We invite you to prayerfully consider including the LIZWAN Sustainable Fund in your financial generosity, whether with an end-of-life legacy or while you are still enjoying the precious gift of life.
Tax-deductible donations are always welcomed for the LIZWAN Sustainable Fund. By check. Make it payable to the Lutheran Foundation of the Southwest and mailed to our home address 2281 Olive Hill Drive, New Braunfels, TX 78130. Secure online donations are also available on https://fundacioncaminoemaus.org/en through Network For Good´s secure platform. When making any donation, please allocate LIZWAN Sustainable Fund.
This LIZWAN Sustainable Fund was established to complement the existing Sustainable Fund established by Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Austin Texas, when it closed its doors in 2017.
The Lutheran Foundation of the Southwest also manages the Fund established by Prince of Peace. Because the Prince of Peace Church also included 5 other ministries in its final legacy, unless future Donations are divided equally among all of them, it is not possible to give specifically for the Emmaus Way Foundation.
Sustainable Evangelism Fund
Because Fundacion Camino de Emaus was born into the very bosom of the Christian community, we are passionate about sharing the love of Jesus Christ as the solid foundation of all our work. Fundacion Camino de Emaus has provided leadership in this area of evangelism.
To inspire the scope of evangelization and inspire generosity, the Lutheran Missionary Society of Colombia-SOLMICOL was officially established in Colombia effective July 2022 with an initial capital of $3,000 (dollars) contributed by the Foundation. Donations to this Fund via credit card are also welcome through the Network For Good platform
