My name is Marcela, I am second of 4 sisters who grew up in a neighborhood in southern Bogotá called Compartir. I have a beautiful son named David Felipe. My life at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church began when I was 11 years old. I consider it to be one of the best gifts God has brought to my life. Thanks to Fundacion Camino de Emaus and my sponsors, Gene and Betty Erickson I did my secondary education, as well as a Degree in Industrial Technology.
While studying technology, I had my son. Being a young mother, my son became my incentive to study and work for a better future for both of us and my mother. After completing my bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology I started working and went on to become a Production Engineer. Iam passionate about my career because I am able not only to see the productive part of companies but also to work in the area of human management and relate to working people as they are, with feelings, dreams, weaknesses and become a voice of encouragement and support for them. Looking to continue improving professionally, I also did a specialization in Occupational Health Management.
Every morning when I wake up, I ask God for strength to face any difficulties that may arise and wisdom to make the best decisions. I am deeply grateful to God for the influence of St. Paul Lutheran Church. To Fundacion Camino de Emaus and all those who support its mission of empowerment with their prayers and financial resources, my sincere gratitude and admiration. Your contributions save lives and rescue people who, due to economic constraints, cannot afford formal education and are forced to put aside their projects and dreams.
