Emmaus road fundation

José Mauricio

Mauricio graduated with the support of Fundacion Camino de Emaus and is a Graphic Designer. In his own words, Mauricio tells us:

I came to Redeemer Lutheran Church thanks to the Corzo family when I was 3 years old. At that time, I was a young man educated in a social foundation of the government. My participation in the Lutheran Church of Colombia has been very personal and of great spiritual strength. I thank God and the many people of the IELCO and my congregation Redeemer Lutheran Church.

I am equally grateful to God and to all the people he contributes in one way or another to help others. Their generosity through Fundacion Camino de Emaus blesses many with formal education, Christian leadership, and opportunities for a dignified life. I appreciate the opportunity given to me to become a graphic designer. It gives me great joy to help and provide a service to many people. My future dreams are to form a foundation for very vulnerable young people who, like me, need shelter and a dignified home.

Through my own difficult experience of life and my profession in graphic design, I want to be able to give back and help people who, like me, at some point needed so much moral, spiritual, physical and of course economic support. Loving God and loving one’s neighbor is a lifelong process. I thank friends from outside Colombia who contribute with their prayers and economic resources so that people like me have a dignified life and is committed to serve others.
