I am Pastor Gustavo. As a family we are active members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Colombia-IELCO. When God called me to be a pastor, there were real obstacles to overcome since I was sick at the time and was 50 years old. My income was not enough to pay for my studies and meet the needs at home. Aware of the mission of the Foundation, I spoke with Pastor Natanael Lizarazo about the possibility of a scholarship to study Theology. Thank God, I was awarded the scholarship to study at the Javeriana University and graduated with a Bachelor of Religious Sciences. This scholarship came at the most critical time of my life and was like a health shot that helped me heal from the terminal illness I was suffering. My leadership has been and is joyfully shared in my own family and in wider circles.
With great joy I served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fundacion Camino Emaus and as Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Colombia. To all those who generously believe in the mission of Fundacion Camino de Emaus and support it with joy with prayers and financial resources, I personally express my sincere gratitude and I want you to know that I always pray that our Almighty and generous God will grant you abundant blessings.
